Liam has learned that he can open and close his hands. Once in a while he reaches out and something accidentally ends up in his tight little grasp- usually it's my hair. Check out the video to see him pick up his rattle.

two month check-up
After spending the week in Detroit Lakes, we drove back today just in time for Liam's two month appointment. Our little man is growing so fast. He weighed in at 11 lbs. 12 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long. For those of you that don't know (or remember) this is when the first round of immunizations are administered. The process was probably harder on me than on Liam. Four shots and one oral, all given in about 15 seconds. The nurse was (thankfully) very fast. Liam did great- he cried for about five minutes and then fell asleep in the car. I cried longer.
It's amazing how much babies change in such a short time. Liam is getting so strong. He holds his head up all by himself and bears weight on his legs when he stands. He is very alert and laughs and giggles at toys that make noise and light up. He loves to be part of the action and only gets fussy if he's tired. Even then he doesn't want to sleep. He is a little party animal- wonder where he gets that from? Liam is definitely a Berndt boy!
Phil and I are so lucky to have a happy, healthy, handsome boy!

smiley baby
Liam started smiling around his one month birthday!! There is nothing sweeter than a big toothless grin from this little guy. He has discovered his voice and makes a lot of funny noises, even a few giggles. He is especially happy in the morning (unlike his daddy) and is constantly moving his arms and legs.
