liam at 8 months

I am a bit saddened that our little Punky is growing up so fast. He no longer enjoys being cradled like a newborn, even when he's tired. At the same time it is amazing to watch him explore his world and learn things that give him more independence.



His big accomplishment this month- feeding himself. Not with a utensil, but his fingers. This makes for a very messy baby! He eats turkey, cheese, graham crakers, cereal puffs, and bananas among other things. When we introduce a new taste or texture he gives us a look that says "what the hell is this?" Of course, he's not too saavy at getting everything in his mouth. Hank knows to position himself right under the high chair for extra treats!
Liam is quite the talker. In the morning we find him in his crib chatting with his bear and playing with his lovey. The minute he sees us, his little face lights up. He loves to be read to and play with his toys, especially balls.
He also likes to check himself out in the mirror and he is learning to drink from a sippy cup. No new teeth, but his hair is getting thicker. In pictures it appears to be red, but it's more of a dark blonde. And he still has those big, dark, blue eyes. If I do say so myself, he's a little cutie!

liam's newest playmate- lauren ann fairbairn

Our good friends Kara and Grant welcomed their baby girl Lauren into the world on January 13. She's a little peanut, weighing 5 lbs. 5 oz. What a dolly! I was a bit worried that I would be hit by the baby bug when we went to visit her. It didn't happen- for which Phil is very happy. I think I am still getting used to uninterrupted sleep after all of those 2am feedings!
