No, he's not lost. I was just looking at Liam's newborn pictures and suddenly, just this minute, it occurred to me that my baby isn't really a baby any more. He is growing into an independent little boy. Rarely does he just sit on my lap and let me hold him. He's too curious about EVERYTHING around him. I see now why women get that baby itch over and over again...
Here he is at 2 days old:
And here he is now:

the juicy nookie
Phil was in Columbus, OH last weekend for Niall's bachelor party and I decided I needed to do something fun. Liam and I shopped (he loved it...he flirts with all of the ladies). I also took him to The Nook for his first Juicy Lucy burger. Some folks in the TC area might say that Matt's Bar has the best, as it was recently featured on an episode of Man v. Food but I'm partial to The Juicy Nookie. perhaps because it is within stumbling distance of the Fairbairn's house. Or perhaps because the two dudes that own it are St. Thomas alumni and shared their story with us over a few PBR's one evening. Or maybe it's because every time I visit I secretly wish that Joe Mauer will make an appearance. Whatever the reason, it's a damn good burger. Here Liam is trying to STEAL my Juicy Nookie...

spring break
Miss Joyce is on vacation this week in Florida, so we were in a bind as to what to do with Liam. Our trip to Scotland is next month so Phil and I couldn't take any time off this month. Grandpa John generously offered to take Liam for the week . We've only left him one other time, while we were in Scottsdale. Liam stayed with Nana and Grandpa Dan, but we were on vacation. This time it feels weird. We're home, doing our normal things, only without Liam.
We sent Liam off with my dad on Sunday afternoon, and for the most part he was fine. I understand he cried for a few minutes once they arrived in DL, but a bottle calmed him down.
Yesterday afternoon I called to see how things were going and dad put me on speaker phone to talk my baby. He was happy for about 30 seconds, until he realized I wasn't there and started to cry. The more I talked, the more he cried. Dad called back a while later and we tried the speaker phone again with the same result...a crying baby. Guess we won't do that again!
Ohter than that things have been going smoothly, but I think Grandpa is a little tired after three days. I know how he feels. I've been tired for the last 19 1/2 months! Dad sent me a text this morning wondering how he and mom did it with three little ones. The answer to that one is easy...he was 37 years younger. There is a reason why women bear children in their 20's and 30's (mostly)...
Phil and I miss our Little Man so much. It's strange to wake up to an alarm clock rather than hearing Liam through the monitor chatting up his little bear and not eating dinner with him at night. But we are enjoying the break. We went to the Twin's home opener on Monday night, caught up on our DVR'd shows last night, and are hanging out with friends tonight.
Here is a picture of dad and Liam on the first night:
I am guessing dad hasn't had much time to take any other photos because we only received a few the first night:) We'll see Liam on Friday...hopefully he won't be mad at us!
